When you are teaching students in high school the action that you deal with mostly is inappropriate behavior as well as reduced study skills. Growing up also involves having some behavior issues for most children. It is not the same for everyone for some it’s more than for others. Make sure that their no inappropriate behavior in the class by checking their action and giving them feedback. If you have a student who is continuously having lousy behavior keep a close eye on them and also avoid it at an early stage. If someone has inappropriate practice make sure you respond using gestures and words that are firm so show that they are not following the rules. When a student behaves appropriately to make sure that they get a reward.

Reinforcement such us social, exercise, physical, consumable and harmful strengthening should be applied in making sure that the rules are followed. Tokens can be used to reward good behavior instead of using tangible rewards. For a later day the tokens can be used as backup reinforcement. But if you are dealing with older students the best reinforce using contingency contracts. The contact should be drafted by you and the student saying that when they behave appropriately they will be rewarded. Shaping is a way that you use to prepare good action in small steps. Shaping can be used to introduce functional practice or enforce to the one living.

Use a role model to explain the sort of behavior you are expecting. When one of the students does something right use them as an example explaining that’s what you want from the rest. If you are working on a specific student make sure you students their age are around to listen and learn what are your expectations. When you do this you teach the one who was wrong as well as the rest of the students. The students should take part in the program of improving their behavior by creating goals, preventing situations that could affect their behavior, assessing themselves and knowing how they should be rewarded for their excellent response. The behavior management program should also include the parents.
